We had these temps earlier this month, and they are back! With the dew point and humidity being high, these will feel like 103 to 105. The muggy meter said sweltering, ugh! Air conditioning weather for sure! Guess the weatherman wasn’t kidding when he said it would be a super El Niño this year. Even the winter earlier this year was much warmer than normal. If any of you are in this heat wave, stay inside or stay well hydrated!!!

They’ve been getting record breaking temperatures in England too! I am so grateful I live so far north we are managing to avoid these crazy temps. At least you have air con pretty much everywhere in the US, whereas here they hardly have it anywhere…certainly not built in to people’s homes.

I have a window air conditioner, they are nicer in the fact that when they break, they are cheaper to buy a new one and easier to install :). The temps on my blog are normally not this hot until the end of July through August. 3 summers ago we reached 116 F with the heat index (46.67 C), people would literally die with out an air conditioner. When I first moved to the mid west, there would be mall alerts when the temps were in the 100’s so people who had no air conditioning would know to go the malls because they were air conditioned and they would sit in the mall (reading, knitting etc) until the evening came and it was cooler and they would go home. The city would issue a mall alert. Our biggest mall closed down come years ago. 😦

Looks crazy! Stay cool. Our rains have started already when we were expecting higher temperatures and a longer summer; personally not complaining, though I’m sure this unanticipated weather will have an impact on the larger scheme of things.
