I give special reverence to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice, their lives, for what they loved, a free and safe country for their families and all of us. May we honor them in all we do and may we always remember that freedom has a price and keep this country free and safe in their honor. Prayers said for their families.
As we think about the things we are thankful for today, remember those who have less than we do and give to homeless shelters, or visit those in nursing homes who have no visitors. May we also be thankful for the Christmas season that will be here soon.
For our Military, who have given service and sacrificed for our freedom!
I would like to take a moment to thank all those veterans who fought in the various wars and “police actions” for our freedom. Thank you for your service, and thank you to your families for allowing you to do that.
I lost my dad almost 3 years ago and would also like to thank my Dad, who was a Veteran of WWII and Vietnam.
I hope everyone has had a very Happy New Year. Mother Nature has given us entrance to the New Year with a snow storm. It started about 11 am and will continue until about midnight tonight. They said we should be getting between 4 to 7 inches. I’m leaning on the 7 inches. Feeling lucky it isn’t the up to 10 inches that those south of us are in for, lol. We will be somewhere around -28F in the morning with wind chill. I know this is just the beginning and that by the end of this month and beginning of Feb we will be hitting -40’sF with wind chills even to -50 with wind chill, is it Spring yet?
I hope everyone enjoys a nice Thanksgiving with family or friends. Even if you spend Thanksgiving alone this year, I hope it is good one. I will be spending mine alone this year as well, but I still feel blessed and have a lot to be thankful for, my health, a warm place to live, clothes to wear, food on my table, family and friends, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, a testimony of His divinity, knowing that He loves everyone of us regardless of our situations, knowing we are never really alone because He is there, and knowing that all He wants is for us to repent as often as we need and to not give up trying to get it right and to follow him. Please keep those in your prayers who do not have a place to live and less than the basics this winter. I challenge you to make a list of those things you have that you are thankful for and and try to add one more thing each day that you have thought of for the next 5 days and see if you can see more than you thought you had. You might also, if you have the means, make a small donation of money or clothing items to your local homeless shelter, or donate time to a local soup kitchen to help feed those who have less than you for whatever reason. Gratitude is always an uplift, especially in hard times.
I was going to wish everyone a Happy New Year, but maybe I should wish us a Better New Year. This last year was a crazy and rather unpleasant one!!! Hope you all have a better New Year.
