VOTE!!

I Voted

Yes I voted.

I encourage all citizens of the United States of America to vote today, if you have not already done early voting, to let your voice be heard, no matter what side of the fence you are on.  It is our civic duty as a citizen of this country and a privileged right to vote for the future of our country.  May our Our Father in Heaven bless our Country and may all the divisiveness that has been going on be healed. 😦

Remembering 9/11

9-11-2001

As we remember the 15th year since this heinous attack was perpetrated, may we take a moment to remember all those who died on this day 15 years ago and thank those who helped in the aftermath. I would like to salute those heroes on flight 93, and all those who, on that day, willingly and unselfishly sacrificed their lives to save the lives of others. I also salute those in our armed services who have given their lives and those who continue to fight, selflessly putting their own lives in jeopardy to protect us and others from terrorism. They are all heroes to me and I will never forget.

Happy 4th of July – Independance Day

July 4th

Happy Birthday to my country!!!!!  May we remember why the our founding fathers came here and may we always work hard to keep her free.

I encourage you to check out this movie called Monumental.  I watched it and was very impressed, every thing was documented and it was well thought out.  It reminds us  of what this country was founded on and why.

Large Winter Pinecone Knot Bag!

I have made a couple of these larger knot bags but had given them to some special friends.Large Winter Pinecone Knot Bag view 2Large Winter Pinecone Knot Bag view 1

This one I can put in my shop :).   You can not see the sparkle on the fabric on the green boughs but it is stunningly beautiful.  Looks like snow,  I really wanted to keep this one for myself, but I have enough left to make a medium bag for me :).  This one is large enough for sweaters and shawls for knitters.

Yellow Orchid view 1OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASometimes when you are really busy doing for family, as the mom you wonder if your children really appreciate all you do for them.  I’m not saying that my children don’t appreciate the things I do, just as a mom you sometimes wonder because they are so busy with their own lives.  Well, my daughter showed me just how much she appreciated all I am doing for her with a beautiful yellow Orchid, just because.  It is so pretty, she even remembered my favorite color for flowers is yellow.  How’s that for remembering :).

Well “The boys” finally won a game last night against an old rival, the Redskins.  Was an exciting game even though I had taken an antihistamine and fell asleep before the end, so I found out this morning that they won. Hehe, I don’t generally fall asleep during a football game, but it happens :).

Veteran’s Day – 2015

Veteran's Day

For our Military, who have given service and sacrificed for our freedom!

Afghanistan isn’t on this old picture, but please note that those veterans are certainly included!  I would like to take a moment to thank all those veterans who fought in the various wars and “police actions” for our freedom.   Thank you for your service, and thank you to your families for allowing you to do that.

Memorial Day – 2014

In Memory of our Fallen Heroes

In Memory of our Fallen Heroes

I give a special reverence to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, their lives, for what they loved, a free and safe country for their families.    May we honor them in all we do and may we always keep this country free and safe in their honor.  I also want to thank all those who are now serving or have served, in any of the branches of the Armed Services, for your love of freedom and for being willing to serve us and your country without regard for your own lives, you’re all heroes to me. May we always remember that Freedom has a price and all those that have paid that price.

*Rant warning, if you might be offended, please do not read*

Patriotism seems to be dwindling among people in this country and I find it very sad that the pledge of allegiance isn’t said in many schools and some people don’t pay any respect to the flag when the pledge is said – what happened to respect?  Why are our local governments opposed to showing patriotism (because it might offend someone?)?  And many do not even know the national anthem.  We should be proud of our Country, it allows us freedom to choose, freedom of religon, freedom to speak our minds and many other things.  It does not guarentee us the previlege to be rich, only the freedom to pursue that, if that is what we want.  It does not guarentee that we will not be offended – only that we have the right to voice our opinion.   We are not all the same, some are smarter, some are braver, some are more sensitive, some are more pragmatic , some are more creative, but we all have something to contribute to making this country great.  It would be very boring indeed if we were all the same, please note I’m not talking diversity in the way our goverment does, because we need to pull together instead of all the divisive attitudes we have today, if we don’t we will continue to be country in conflict and there is a scripture that says “….Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth” St Luke 11:17.  There is much truth in that, even if you are not religious.  If you don’t like this country, I urge you to find one that suits you so you can be happy, please DO NOT change mine, I like it the way it is.

Remembering 9/11

In Memory of 9/11

This picture is on the side of a tractor trailer truck that has made it’s rounds around the United States. Although the master mind behind the attacks was eliminated last year from participating in any more aggressive acts against our country, there are those whom he lead who still want to hurt us, may we never forget this horrendous act of aggression on our soil so that we might always be free.

As we remember the 11th year since this heinous attack was perpetrated, may we take a moment to remember all those who died on this day 11 years ago and thank those who helped in the aftermath.
