My mom taught me to knit when my first child was born and I’ve been knitting ever since. It is my de-stresser, my way to relax – and on top of that I have wonderful gifts to give my family and friends. You can see some of my spinning and finished knitted projects at the link in the right hand column under My Spinning and Knitting.
I have been spinning since 2004, and it’s always a learning experience. I find spinning extremely peaceful and relaxing. It’s also a tremendous ego boost to be able to knit with “your own” yarn. I’ve become quite a fiber snob since I have handled the natural fibers as I have spun. I still use some acrylic yarns as I need to, ie: baby blankets and other things that need a lot of washing, but my preference is to knit with natural fibers now.
The other creative outlet I have is my machine embroidery. It is also mostly for gifts, tho’ I am working on a page to showcase some embroidered things for sale – so if you have a request or questions, please e-mail me.
I love ferrets and could go on for hours about them, ask my friends, they avoid talking to me about ferrets like the plague :P. I’ve been owned by ferrets since about 1995 and I also had a ferret rescue for about 5 years so if you have any questions I’d be happy to converse with you about them. Ferrets are not for everyone, actually they are not for anyone who does not have time for them or money for vet bills or is unwilling to keep them when they have health problems. They are not throw away pets (no pet is) and they get very attached to “their” people. Ferrets tend to be a bit more expensive to own because they are considered “exotic” pets and you pay the “exotics” pricing at the vets and for their specialized food.

I am sorry that the spammers made it necessary to do this, but I hated wading through some pretty nasty spam.
