I finished the Look for Happiness baby blanket for an expectant mother in my church. :). Hope she likes it. It was a very enjoyable knit, not complicated, but enough “need to pay attention to one of the rows” to keep your interest. I found it a relaxing knit. π
On March 19th we had a little hail storm. I thought it was just a really heavy rain, until I saw these (2nd picture) on my balcony!!

I had the hat finished that I was working on with this skein of yarn I (that I had finished spinning for the 2023 Tour de Fleece) but was not satisfied with the hat at all!! The yarn was too thick and the needles I had gone down a couple of sizes, trying to compensate for the yarn weight, were a size or two to small and made it too dense and it was still to big and the cables didn’t show well. So I frogged it, sorry I never did get a picture of it. The yarn is a light bulky (because it’s a tweed) and the pattern called for a dk weight. I have chosen another pattern but will probably still have to adjust it, or maybe just keep looking for a better pattern.
Hope everyone is safe with all the crazy weather, take care, be safe!
I love how that blanket turned out! The color is so pretty there is not a mom in world who wouldn’t love to receive it!!!
Hail??? It’s spring! Send that weather North!!
I have seen bulky/tweedy hat patterns in my travels, I am sure you’ll find something appropriate!

LOL, north sent it down to us, I’d love to send it back!! Fortunately we don’t get hail very often, we get more snow. I tried to catch hail once in my grandmother’s straw hat, lol, you can guess how that went :P.

Its beautiful handspun and fisker cowl suits bulky yarn as my first one was done with bulky. We haven’t had hail like that for many years.

We don’t usually get hail :P. I need a pattern for a light bulky weight hat. Gonna keep looking, I know I’ll find something :).

Beautiful blanket. Weird weather. I heard the midwest is now an insurance hot spot due to hail risk of damage. No place is safe.

Honestly my area doesn’t get much hail, but once in a while and what is in my picture is the biggest I’ve seen here anyway.
I saw more and bigger hail out west tho.

Wow they’re big hailstones!

Yeah they were, but some areas were getting 1″ hail stones, that would be big dents on the cars!

That’s a beautiful blanket! And look at those hailstones–not a common sight here so I looked at that photo for far too long. π

We don’t get hail very often either, maybe once or twice a year. Thank you for your comment on the blanket, it really was fun to knit. I will definitely knit another one.
