This was what I woke up to this on Friday Morning. It snowed all day Thursday and into the night but most of it melted off because we had been warmer days before and it didn’t stick to the roads, but we managed to keep about 1/4 an inch on the ground. We still have some on the ground but not even enough now to cover the grass. Enjoy the snow this winter if you usually get snow, suppose to be a warmer winter with the El Niño this year :).

It does but honestly by the end of winter it’s not fun, the road splash on the snow turns it dirty and with no color else where (leaves etc,) everything looks dead, so I love the spring when things turn green and flowers add color, even the lowly dandelion, that people consider a weed, is beautiful with it’s bright yellow flowers on the lawn, and it adds the first meal for some insects and animals.

Yeah, you’re right, the first snows are great, but the dirty slush and endless drab are way too depressing. If we all left our Christmas lights up just a little longer, I think it would help a lot!!

Agreed, Christmas lights for the win!! I have an across the street neighbor that keep their Christmas lights on until the end of Jan, and it always brings a little smile when they come on at night, they seem to brighten the rather dull winter.

If it was just once or twice, maybe 3 times I would, but generally in Jan and Feb we get very cold and snowy. Tho we don’t get as much snow as farther up north get. By the time spring comes I’m very tired of the snow 😛

I can relate. It’s the same here with our rainy season–feels amazingly refreshing at first, but in the end, we can’t wait for winter to begin. 🙂
